Comitis Crisis Center, located on the edge of the Fitzsimmons campus, offers a variety of programs supporting individuals on their recovery journey—from trauma, mental health and substance use challenges, and housing instability.

Emergency adult shelter
A monthly emergency shelter for adults, ages 18+
• Meals, hygiene items, and seasonal clothing available
• Showers available
• Referral services and case management
• Health-care screenings provided by MCPN (Metro Community Provider Network)
• LGBTQA+ affirming supportive services
Lottery line / (303) 341-9160. Call 5 am – noon on the first Wednesday of each month. Call after 2 pm to confirm. Monthly stays begin on the first Wednesday of each month.
Transitional family shelter
Three- to six-month short-term shelter for eligible families receiving Colorado Works (TANF) through Arapahoe County
• Meals, hygiene items, and seasonal clothing available
• Case management and financial literacy classes

Emergency family shelter
A nightly emergency shelter for families with children under 18 years old
• Meals, hygiene items, and seasonal clothing available
• Showers available
• Referral services and case management

Transitional VA shelter
For veterans and their families as they gain self-sufficiency
• For single female veterans and male/female veterans with families
• Meals, hygiene items, and seasonal clothing available
• Case management and financial literacy classes

Cold Weather Activation
• Aurora Day Resource Center is a 24/7 shelter during certain times of the winter season.
• During cold weather activation, the family lottery is bypassed, and the shelter is on a first-come, first-serve situation. No families will be turned away.
• Singles who do not make the lottery for the month have access to ADRC.
